Custom Pioneertown denim jacket with western patches, bandana and cowboy hat in California

Overview

Over time, amR has created custom embroidery, one-of-one garments, and on-site chainstitch for clients in and around Pioneertown, California, including events at Red Dog Saloon. From bold back patches to detailed hand-guided embroidery, the work draws from the town’s Western roots, worn-in workwear and desert landscape.

Our Role

amR handled the embroidery and garment work across the project, from on-site chainstitch at Red Dog Saloon to the development of one-of-one jackets and statement pieces.

Our Approach

The garments drew from classic Western workwear, with oversized back patches, bold lettering, contrast stitching, and one-off embroidered details. Some pieces stayed clean and graphic, while others leaned into more decorative, hand-guided embroidery across the jackets, sleeves, and tailored details.

At Red Dog Saloon, guests could watch the embroidery happen on-site, making the process itself part of the experience.

The Result

The project brought together live embroidery, custom clothing, and the character of Pioneertown in a way that felt natural to the setting. At Red Dog Saloon, guests could watch the embroidery happen on-site, while the custom jackets and one-of-one pieces gave the event something personal and rooted in the place. From custom Pioneertown jackets to hand-guided embroidered details, the work showed how live embroidery and custom garments can make an event feel more memorable without coming across like standard branded merch.
