Overview

Doodles partnered with amR to bring its artwork into the real world through custom embroidery, wearable design and live events in New York and Miami.

As part of the collaboration, amR created one-of-one embroidered denim jackets, each featuring artwork by Doodles artist Burnt Toast. The limited release sold out before its official launch, and amR later joined Doodles as a featured artist at both NFT NYC and Art Basel Miami.

The project grew from custom apparel into a broader live collaboration, with embroidery and wearable artwork becoming part of the in-person Doodles experience and giving the community a new way to connect with the brand beyond the screen.

Our Role

amR worked closely with the Doodles team across creative development, custom embroidery and event preparation. The collaboration included adapting Doodles artwork for embroidery, helping develop the custom PFP denim jacket concept and producing one-of-one embroidered garments for the project. Kai Brown worked alongside the Doodles team on design development, bringing amR’s experience in custom garments and chainstitch embroidery into the collaboration from the start.

Our Approach

The approach started with the artwork. Doodles’ bold linework and expressive characters needed to translate naturally into thread while retaining the personality of each original design. From amR’s Los Angeles studio, each character was adapted specifically for chainstitch embroidery, refining scale, placement and stitch direction for denim and the structure of each garment.

Using vintage chainstitch machines, every design was guided by hand rather than digitized for automated embroidery. Placement and proportions were adjusted garment by garment, allowing the artwork to work with seams, panels and the shape of the denim. The same hands-on approach carried through to the live activations, creating a consistent process from the California studio preparation through to the events in New York and Miami.

The Result

amR created a limited series of one-of-one embroidered denim jackets for Doodles, translating individual characters into collectible pieces of wearable art. The release sold out before launch, extending the Doodles universe from digital artwork into a highly tactile, physical format. The collaboration then expanded into large-scale live activations at NFT NYC and Art Basel Miami, where amR delivered on-site chainstitch embroidery as part of high-traffic brand experiences. The project demonstrated how hand-guided embroidery can be integrated into major events while maintaining a personal, guest-facing experience. Across both cities, the project combined collectible product, live personalization and experiential embroidery into a cohesive brand activation - giving Doodles a distinctive physical presence and guests a memorable way to experience the artwork beyond the screen.

We chose amR to be our featured artist at Art Basel Miami and NFT New York. amR’s talent and commitment to his craft is unmatched. I would have no hesitation recommending amR to any brand who’s looking for a truly unique and interactive experience.
